An unplanned visit to Mumbai - the city of dreams quickly turned into one of the most beautiful & impromptu photoshoot for dear friends. Sam and Neetha, a lovely couple whose wedding I had the privilege to capture in Kerala, had another task set up for me. Late into the party on Saturday night, they mentioned that they would love to have an "expecting parents" shoot on Sunday.
Although I was not prepared with the traditional props for this one, we all were pretty excited to give it a try. Also, I secretly knew that Sam who had just got the possession of his beloved 1st Baby - His Bike - "The Art of Music" - was keen to get a few good pictures of it too. So it was decided we start early morning ( well as early as possible, specially when you go to sleep at 3 am in the night ) and complete the maternity shoot first and then if time permits get a few good clicks of the bike! ( And yes, for me, it meant a chance to get a quick ride on the bike too ;) )
A 7.45 am start on a normal hot and humid day in Mumbai meant we had to search for tree cover for getting good shots. Powai lake and its surroundings offered some good enough spots for us to get the first part of the shoot done.
Then we moved to the adjacent Hiranandani Gardens in search of a location for the Bike Shoot. A few shots into it and we were shooed away by the guards citing some complaints about the shoot and asking us to pack up! Apparently you cannot shoot your own bike with your own camera in front of your own office in Mumbai!! :P
Alas... so the only thing left to do was to steal a quick ride on his bike and wrap up the shoot.
P.S. - Sam's an die hard music lover and instrumentalist (plays most of the musical instruments exceptionally well) and also an avid biker. So it was no wonder when he got his Bullet Classic 500 remodeled with custom graphics to create this new baby - nicknamed - "The Art of Music"
Happy Riding Sam!
